I think it depends on genes. The women on my mothers side of the family were all blonde and all went white instead of gray. I remember my grandmother had thick white curly hair that looked like a halo around her head. It was pure white by the time she wass 60 and she never put anything on it.

I never had any gray hairs until I had babies in my 30s. Now it is “salt and pepper”, but I do color it. Looks great with reddish-blonde highlights. So much better than the alternative. I’m in my 60s. My avatar is me 30 years ago.

My ‘gray’ has always been white…began in my late 30′s..now is a about 60% white and 40% black – I’m now 67

I was twenty four and it hit me hard. They were and are white. Not grey.
Started in my beard first.
I don’t think I will ever be all white. At least it still there .

I noticed my first gray hair when I was 12. I’m also in my 50s with salt and pepper gray, mostly around my face. My 14 year old grand-daughter thinks it looks cool.

When I was three years old, and had my first flying lesson. When I said what dad said for the first time.

Bleach your hair. Get some dye and do it platinum.
Mine is not grey or white, it is platinum, naturally.
I dyed it red a few weeks ago, guess what color it is?
Not red, just light blond again. Didn’t take it.
Guess God wants me blond or platinum.

I was about 45 yrs old when I noticed my hair getting some grey through it…so I started to put a colour in it….but at 50 I let the colour grow out and was surprised to see just I big grey streak across the front of my hair. I’m 60 now and the grey streak doesn’t appear to have gotten any bigger….or maybe I need my eyes tested again.

I had a bad shock of news in my late 40′s. I got to streaks of white in each temple that week. It has not advanced. It’s the same two spots. I use a 1/4 tsp. of hair color on those spots every 4-6 weeks.

My mom passed at 52 y.o. so I don’t know her greying pattern. My dad has a full head of white hair at age 80. I don’t know what to expect for my future. I’m the youngest of 3 sisters. They are not showing much signs of grey.

started to go ash blonde in my early twenties,I suppose it looks whiteish
