I have seen commercials for hair dye for men that says it just covers the gray hair, but I have not seen any women’s dye that says that on it. I don’t want to change my hair color; I only want the gray colored. Is there anything like that?

Does Just for Men really just color the gray hair?
MarcellusWallace asked:
I read somewhere that Just for Men colors just the hair that is gray and leaves the rest of it alone. Does it actually do this? I have a patch of gray hair that I want to color over but I want the rest of my hair to be the original color. Will it do this?

I need to color my hair more and more frequently as the years go by and that’s a pain! If I was at least 40, I would give up and let my hair go gray, but I’m too young for that… Has a medicine that makes gray hair go back to its original color been invented yet?

Premature Graying Hair – a Problem That Needs Fixing
Terry Siverson asked:
It is true that everybody encounters the on set of gray hair at some stages of life. In our childhood we had the idea that people above 50 years of age grows gray hair but as there is no rule life and death so there is no rule for graying hair. Today gray hair can occur to anybody even as young as in our teens. Premature graying is now a common problem with everyone. So there is no need to panic because there are remedies that can solve your problem. But before that we need to know what is premature graying?
Premature graying hair describes the conditions of hair that states that when the hair becomes before the person is considered old enough for the condition. Such hair condition results from a skin condition due to a lack of the proper vitamins in the diet. Gray hair could be understand and tolerated as we age but gray hair at this very young age…..Oh No! Never! What gives our hair the black color? It is the Melanin the hair pigment that gives our hair the black color. The more is the melanin present the darker is the hair color.
Graying reveals loss of this pigment Melanin. The cells present in our hair follicles are known as Melanocytes. These Melanocytes produces pigments known as Melanin that gives the color black to our hair. When these Melanocytes stop producing the pigment the hair starts losing its color and thus graying result. The hair that turns white or gray is actually not so but they are transparent. There is another reason that was proposed by the scientists of Harvard that even the failure of Melanocyte stem cells abbreviated as MSC that is highly responsible for maintaining the production of Melanocytes could ultimately result in drying. There can be several causes as to why graying happens and to mention the few reasons one could due to hereditary and the other could lack of proper vitamin. Graying can also take place due to thyroid imbalance or it could be due to lack of vitamin B12. Graying can also happen from a fright or psychological shock or trauma. When a person undergoes severe shock the thicker and darker hair stops growing that give rise to Alopecia areata which causes patch on the scalp followed by growing gray hair. It can also be due to certain illness and strong medication. Smoking has been conclusively associated to accelerated hair loss and graying.
The chances of going gray increase 10-20% every decade after 30 years. Going gray in natural but if it takes place around 50 and it is unnatural when it happens in the early age. So to fix this problem there are several hair care products that may help us but before that we need to know the reason. How do I get my hair from a gray/blue color to a draker shade of blonde?

Megan asked:
I tried to dye my hair a light brown/ dark blonde color a few days ago and when I washed it out it was a gray blue color. I realized afterwards that it was for people with gray hair. So, I bought another box of hairdye that was the same color, but a different brand. It turned out an even darker gray/blue color. Now I want to dye it back to a blonde/brown color and I’m not sure how to without messing it up even more and the salon says that I shouldn’t dye it for 4-6 weeks, and I dont want to have to keep it that long.

I have medium-dark brown hair with one streak of gray right in the very top of my head. It hadn’t bothered me before, I had just accepted it as a normal part of getting old, I’m 35. Well it didn’t bother until the other day, my much older sisters (4, ranging in age of 48 to 52 and are also gray headed) were making fun of me just because of one little streak. Kinda hurt my feelings a little. Well, anyhoo, I’ve decided to start dying it and I would like your opinions of hair coloring products on the market today, what do you think are the best ones to use. Thanks very much.
